See our recommended restaurants below:
-
Atlantic Grill & Seafood Bar
This is an interesting place that hasn’t decided
exactly what they are trying to accomplish. The menu
selections are either great or awful, without any apparent
middle ground. Nice décor with no atmosphere,
and average service.
6507 North Kings Hwy, Myrtle Beach (843.449.9596)
-
Baron’s Steaks & Chops
Their name says it all about this pretty little restaurant
with a very good, while pricey, menu. Too much cigarette
smoke and mediocre service.
9650 North Kings Hwy, Myrtle Beach (843.497.8970)
-
Billy the Kid’s Seafood
This mom and pop restaurant is one of the very few places
to offer “select” oysters, and while there
is no atmosphere and the service leaves something to
be desired it is a friendly place with excellent seafood
at bargain prices.
3456 Sea Mountain Hwy, North Myrtle Beach (843.399.3425)
-
Bimini’s Oyster Bar & Seafood Grill
A great, fun little hideaway with something always going
on. While the menu is limited all of their offerings
are very good, and the staff is very personable. For
the adventurous, try their infamous Oyster Shooter.
730 Lake Arrowhead Road, Myrtle Beach (843.499.5549)
-
Collector’s Cafe
A real find! This “happening,” up-scale
restaurant in an art gallery is a true dining pleasure.
Their menu changes, but we especially enjoy their black-bean
cakes and scallop-cake appetizers, followed by their
Filet Merlot or Cajun Spiced Shrimp and Penne Pasta.
While service can spotty, it is still one of the best
in town.
7726 North Kings Hwy, Myrtle Beach (843.449.9370)
-
Greg Norman’s Australian Grille
Probably the most beautiful restaurant in town overlooking
the waterway. While the menu has some outstanding selections,
many items don’t measure up to their high prices.
Their biggest flaw is the impersonal service, especially
the bartenders whom we would rate as lousy.
4930 South Kings Hwy, North Myrtle Beach (843.361.0000)
-
Longhorn Steakhouse
A small but well-done steakhouse that is a local’s
favorite. What you see is what you get, and what you
get is good, and that includes the service.
7604 North Kings Hwy, Myrtle Beach (843.449.7013)
-
Nakato Japanese Steak House Seafood &
Sushi Bar
Another Japanese steakhouse, but this one is Myrtle
Beach’s oldest, and one of the friendliest. Besides
the hibachi table dining they have the only “floating
sushi bar” that is really neat.
9912 North Kings Hwy, Myrtle Beach (843.449.3344)
-
New York Style Italian Deli Restaurant
This small family-owned eatery is truly a wonderful
find. The owner/chef, from Sorrento, Italy by way of
New Jersey, serves up excellent veal and pasta dishes
at very reasonable prices. What they lack in décor
they more than make up for in friendly and personable
service.
5223 North Kings Hwy, Myrtle Beach (843.692.9294)
-
Rosa Linda’s Mexican Restaurant
Myrtle Beach’s first Mexican restaurant. They
offer excellent menu selections, good food, healthy
portions with average service and good prices.
4713 Highway 17 South, North Myrtle Beach (843.272.6823)
- S
ugar Shack Jamaican Restaurant
While it is a little out of the way, this is one of
our very favorite places. Every dish is a “wow!”
Caribbean pizza, spicy beef Jamaican patty and conch
cake appetizers followed by the best baby back ribs
or jerk steak we have ever tasted. They also get our
vote for the best key lime pie.
1609 Hale Beach Road, Ocean Isle Beach, (910.579.3844)
-
Umberto’s
There is only one Umberto’s, and it’s this
one. This Italian restaurant always gives you more than
you can eat and more than your money’s worth.
Soup, salad, vegetable, pasta and entrée make
up every meal. Their monster cuts of meat are their
trademark. We love their stuffed “hot” banana
peppers appetizer followed by their veal shank osso
bucco. The only negative is that their service can get
a little ragged, especially if you like to keep the
cocktails flowing. Barefoot Landing, North Myrtle Beach
